Architect · Mid & North Wales

Every great project starts with a conversation. Get in touch to discuss your plans, I'd love to help bring them to life.

Our Ethos

Studio Shekhawat is a design led architecture practice based in the beautiful Eryri National Park, working across North and Mid Wales, or wherever the project takes us!

We take a design-led approach, allowing the building to evolve from an insightful understanding of the users, the site and the forces of nature.

Through understanding how you want to live and move in your space, we work to create buildings that are intuitive to use, improve your life and bring a little delight into your everyday experience.

We believe that spaces affect how we feel, how we move and how we gather, and every project that passes through our hands should positively contribute to this built framework of our lives. Be it an extension to your home or a totally new home, a conversion of a barn or a low impact eco home, a space for gathering, or learning or working we aim for the architecture to intuitively support and inspire its users. Throw in an ability to adapt and evolve over time, and the space starts to live alongside you.

About Us

Zeta Shekhawat is a fully qualified ARB registered Architect. Graduating with a first class degree in Architecture from the University of Brighton, she went on to gain a Masters followed by her postgraduate diploma and ARB registration at the universities of Westminster and Cardiff.

She has a broad and varied professional experience ranging from domestic and commercial architecture, interiors, 3D tensile design, furniture design and branding.

Zeta’s professional career started working in conservation architecture, where she helped in the restoration of notable historic houses in the south east, before working with a more contemporary response on homes and commercial premises in the Brighton and Hove area. This work required navigating a challenging planning environment including listed building consent applications and work within conservation areas.

Moving to Mid Wales over 10 years ago brought new challenges including applications for planning in both the Pembrokeshire and Eryri National Parks, working in close proximity to SSSIs, and negotiating with the local authority to gain permission for contemporary architectural solutions.

Many projects in Mid and North Wales require working with and understanding the vernacular building stock, which has allowed Zeta to gain a thorough understanding of traditional building techniques and materials, and how to work alongside them.

This mix of working with historic and listed buildings, and understanding the demands of modern day life, has put Zeta in a great position to craft bespoke spaces that respond to our needs.

Bespoke residential design is her passion, whether it’s new build, conversion or extension, working to help people make the most of their homes through design that positively changes the way they live and feel.

A commitment to environmental efficiency and passive design runs through all the work at Studio Shekhawat.
